As things stand, the college days of Justin Fields at Ohio State seem to be a lot better than his current NFL days.
Before the 25-year-old was traded to the Steelers this offseason to backup Russell Wilson and way before he led the Bears to a record of 10-28 as their starter, Fields was a superstar in Columbus.
He became an All-American en route to leading Ohio State to the College Football Playoff in back-to-back seasons (2019-2020).
Fields found plenty of success on offense thanks to the great wide receivers that he played with.
Recently, the Steelers quarterback named the top five wide receivers that he has seen play there in the last few years.
“At one, we got Marvin (Harrison Jr.). Two, we got Jaxon (Smith-Njigba). Three, Garrett (Wilson). Four, Chris (Olave). Then, five would be Terry (McLaurin),” Fields told DAZN.
Steelers QB Justin Fields lists his Top 5 WRs from Ohio State:

2) #Seahawks Jaxon Smith-Njigba
3) #Jets Garrett Wilson
4) #Saints Chris Olave
5) #Commanders Terry McLaurin

Judging by this list, it is fair to say that Ohio State could very well be the best at producing wide receiver talent.
Marvin Harrison Jr. won the Biletnikoff Award as the best wide receiver in America last year and was drafted by the Cardinals at pick No. 4 overall in this year’s NFL Draft.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, now with the Seahawks, is another first-round pick that put up over 1,600 yards in 2021.
Garrett Wilson has turned in back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Jets, but he was a 1,000-yard wide receiver at Ohio State and became a top-10 pick because of it.
Olave, like Wilson, has turned in back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons to start his NFL career down in the Bayou after recording over 2,700 yards and 35 touchdowns in four seasons with the Buckeyes.
Finally, Terry McLaurin, after being a role player in Columbus for most of his college career, has been a bright spot in Washington as he has recorded four consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.
Fields only got the opportunity to play with the middle three names on his list, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know all about great receiver play at Ohio State.
