Being a great passer doesn’t seem to be enough anymore to be a star quarterback in today’s NFL.

Dual-threat quarterbacks are the blueprint for today’s QB, with Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes being a few examples of that trend.

Of course, there are always the less-mobile guys who are still stars because of their accuracy, such as Aaron Rodgers or even Joe Burrow, but the league is shifting towards the scrambling QB now more than ever.

With that in mind, NFL on CBS shared a video of Chicago Bears star Justin Fields being asked to choose his top-five QBs in regard to running, and his list didn’t disappoint.

In no particular order, Fields started his list with Michael Vick, perhaps the greatest running quarterback of all time and an incredibly gifted athlete who paved the way for those who do their thing today.

Then, he — unsurprisingly — chose Cam Newton, whose athleticism, strength, speed, and physicality made him one of the marquee names in the league when he was in his prime, even winning one MVP and making it to one Super Bowl.

Later, he chose Lamar Jackson, who’s the signature dual-threat QB in today’s game, a former MVP, and a guy who’s set all kinds of marks in terms of running QBs.

He then chose himself, and while it might be early to tell, he did have some impressive scrambles last season.

And last but not least, he chose the great Steve Young, a multi-time champion who was wreaking havoc out of the backfield long before it became a trend.
