After three seasons, Justin Jefferson has made a name for himself in the NFL.
The Minnesota Vikings receiver is regarded as one of the league’s best and has shown no signs of slowing down.
With elite on-field production comes the possibility of a massive contract, which many expect the Vikings to extend to him.
Whether it’ll come before the 2023 season remains to be seen.
If Jefferson’s recent comments are any indication, he’s not thinking about a contract at the moment.
According to Jeff Wald at Fox 9, Jefferson said, “It’s really all about winning the Super Bowl,” and “The contract will play itself; I’m just out here to play football.”

What could a potential contract for a player like Jefferson look like?
The top-paid receivers in the NFL are Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, Cooper Kupp, A.J. Brown, and Stefon Diggs.
Adams’ contract has the highest total value, at $140 million.
Regarding a yearly average, that title belongs to Hill, who is slated to make $30 million annually.
Using these numbers as a metric, Jefferson is likely in-line to make a similar amount, if not more, given his success in the league.
He led the NFL in receiving yards in 2022, nearly 100 more in the season than Hill.
Since entering the league in 2020, Jefferson also led the league in receiving yards in that period, with 4,825.
In that time, he has nearly 400 more yards than the next closest receiver, Adams.
Paying Jefferson is a matter of when, not if, for the Vikings.
It appears that Jefferson is just ready to prepare for the upcoming season, working hard in training camp.
