The Kansas City Chiefs weren’t at their best to start the season, and it looked like some of the players simply weren’t ready to take the field.

Patrick Mahomes showed no signs of rust and was as dominant as usual, but his receiving corps left a lot to be desired.

That’s especially true for former New York Giants WR Kadarius Toney, perhaps the main player responsible for the loss.

Toney dropped three key passes, one leading to a pick-six, and was only able to haul in one reception for one yard on five targets.

Now, NFL insider Dov Kleiman reports that the former first-round pick deleted his Twitter account after the game.

Kleiman adds that Toney talked a lot of trash during the offseason, and Giants fans didn’t hesitate to call him out and mock him after this dreadful performance.

The Chiefs didn’t have their second-best offensive player, Travis Kelce, on the field.

He hyperextended his knee a couple of days before kickoff, and while there was optimism about his availability for the opener, the team decided to play it safe with their superstar.

The fact that he was close to suiting up for the game gives them some hope ahead of their Week 2 matchup vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, and that’ll obviously give the team a massive boost in the passing game.

Then again, the rest of the Chiefs’ receiving corps will have to step up as well, especially Toney, who was projected to have a breakout year in his first full season playing for Andy Reid.
