Is there a growing conflict within the Charlotte Hornets roster?
That is what some people are asking on Wednesday as social media comments from Kai Jones are getting a lot of attention.
With his comments, Jones fired off about both Nick Richards and Mark Williams of the Hornets.
He claimed that he is “more assertive with the ball” than Richards and can “read myself.”
Additionally, he asked fans to show him a video of Williams “pulling up going left and hitting it.”

This obviously won’t sit well with Richards, Williams, or the team’s front office and coaching staff.
Jones will surely be sat down and talked to and he might end up making an apology.
These comments may seem petty and inconsequential but they could also do a lot of damage to what the team is trying to build.
Jones, Richards, and Williams are all young players and they need to get along if the Hornets wish to return to the postseason in the future.
Charlotte is one of the youngest teams in the league, which means they have plenty of potential for growth and success – if they can stay focused, work together, and grow as a unit.
This could definitely get in the way of that and will need to be addressed.
Ironically, Jones’ numbers were far below those of Richards and Williams in 2022-23.
He averaged 3.4 points and 2.7 rebounds while Richards put up 8.2 points and 6.4 rebounds and Williams averaged 9 points and 7.1 rebounds.
What’s next for Jones after these biting words?
Will he be getting a phone call from his agent and team staff in the coming hours?
