On Tuesday, it was expected that veteran free-agent running back Kareem Hunt would sign with the New Orleans Saints to fill the void left by injured back Eno Benjamin and the suspension of star Alvin Kamara.
Unfortunately for the Saints, that didn’t turn out to be the case despite what is being called a great visit, as the one-time Pro Bowler has hopped back on the plane and is headed elsewhere after not coming to terms with New Orleans.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Hunt is back on the road after his “great visit” with the Saints, as he will now meet with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday.

This is an interesting turn of events, as it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Hunt would sign with the Saints by the end of the day and help shoulder the load in the backfield until Kamara returns in Week 4 of the upcoming NFL regular season.
As for the Colts, the team is still dealing with what seems to be an ugly situation with star running back Jonathan Taylor, who has requested the team trade him before the upcoming season, as the two sides couldn’t agree upon a new contract extension.
Taylor has become one of the many disgruntled star running backs in the league who has not been able to secure a long-term future with their respective teams, as Josh Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, and Tony Pollard are a few notable others in the same position.
Hunt, however, is simply looking for work and may be open to taking a short-term deal to get back on the field.
