The Los Angeles Clippers are going to look vastly different during the 2024-25 NBA season as they will be without Paul George who walked in free agency to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Throughout the 2023-24 NBA campaign, George’s future in Los Angeles was called into question after he and the team failed to agree on a contract extension.
Fearing his age, injury history and the NBA’s new CBA, the Clippers opted to play chicken with George who wound up getting the max deal he wanted from the 76ers.
George’s departure marks the end of an era in Los Angeles who were hoping to compete for titles with Kawhi Leonard and George leading the way.
Leonard is under contract for the next three years, though without George by his side it’s hard to imagine he and the Clippers will be competing in the Western Conference.
However, the two appear to still be close as they were recently seen at a Las Vegas night club together via Jamal Cristopher.

In the short clip, Leonard and George are briefly seen in the dimly-lit club which signals that there are no hard feelings between them.
If the pair had been able to stay healthy during their time together, then the Clippers may have one title though they were never able to stay on the floor for extended stretches.
Los Angeles can’t play the what-if game, though, and must move on with its current roster.
