South Florida is not exactly a hotbed for rabid sports fans, as millions of transplants from across the nation bring loyalties to their previously local teams to the Sunshine State.

However, for NFL analyst Kay Adams, there is much to love about followers of the Miami Dolphins.

After all, she explained, the team is supported week after week by legions who have embraced young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and their unusual head coach in Mike McDaniel.

Adams told her viewers that “this fanbase, I will always love,” calling them a “true ride or die” market that is “fearlessly loyal” and behind their team (via FinsXtra).

Remember, this is a team that has not tasted postseason success since December 30, 2000, a time when some on the current roster were not even born.

On that day, the Fins took Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts to overtime before squeaking out a 23-17 win.

It was not, sadly for the fans, a sign of things to come.

Instead, Miami has been defeated in six straight playoff games and has not reached the AFC’s divisional round once.

Fans are well aware of the number 24, which is how many years it’s been since the Dolphins won in the playoffs.

But these same fans are riding with their young team as it returns from an exciting 11-6 season in 2023 that ended with a loss to eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City.

For Adams, it is impressive that Miami’s fanbase remains fired up about the team’s future and joyously optimistic about the coming season.
