The New York Giants made the playoffs in 2022, which wasn’t necessarily expected.

It was Brian Daboll’s first year as head coach, and the team was amid several organizational changes.

After this playoff berth, the Giants will look to continue their trend this season, working meticulously on both sides of the ball.

Wink Martindale recently criticized Thibodeaux, hoping to put a pep in his step.

Some players might have taken offense to their coach’s comments, but Thibodeaux took them in stride.

According to Thibodeaux’s comments via ‘Around the NFL,’ “The last thing anybody needs at this level of the game is for someone to blow smoke at them.”

For a team like the Giants, having internal criticism is never a bad thing.

They’re doing everything they can to break through in the NFC, a conference with a different winner for the past five seasons.

Their divisional rival Philadelphia Eagles, was the NFC’s Super Bowl representative last season.

Can the Giants figure out how to dismantle the Eagles through an improved defense?

With any luck, Thibodeaux can improve this year and be a leader for the Giants’ defensive unit.

He’s joined on the defensive side of the ball by the likes of Bobby Okereke, Deonte Banks, and Xavier McKinney.

They allowed 21.8 points per game last year, a mark they will look to improve upon.

If this unit is better, it’ll allow Daniel Jones and the offense more time on the field, giving the team the best chance to stay in games.
