The Chicago Bears didn’t want to leave anything to chance this season.

GM Ryan Poles was uber-aggressive and one of the most active executives in the league early in the offseason, and he made sure to get his new quarterback some prime weapons.

He got D’Andre Swift to revamp the running game and also landed Keenan Allen, one of the most productive, efficient, and underrated wide receivers of the past decade or so.

Notably, he didn’t stop there.

He also made sure to get him a wide receiver who would fit his timeline by landing Rome Odunze.

And while he’s a rookie and might not be the primary weapon right out of the gate, Allen is actually quite impressed with him.

In his latest media conference, the former Los Angeles Chargers star claimed that Odunze is actually faster and way more polished than he was when he first entered the league (via Dov Kleiman).

Keenan Allen says Rome Odunze is better than he was when he came into the League

“He’s faster, he comes out of his breaks better…he looks more polished than a was as a receiver.”

Allen isn’t particularly young, and his contract situation might make this a one-and-done kind of deal for the Bears, especially if they feel like Odunze is ready to step up in a bigger role in his second year in the league.

The Washington star is physical, big, and a great route-runner.

The Bears hope that his connection with Caleb Williams will be one of the most productive in the game for years to come.

And with a mentor like Allen and DJ Moore also there to teach him the ropes of the game, it may not take long before he becomes a star.
