The Cleveland Browns desperately need to make things work with Deshaun Watson.
After all they gave up to get him and after all the money they’ve given him, it’s time he starts paying them back.
Needless to say, the coaching staff still has plenty of faith in him.
When asked about his expectations for his quarterback, new offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey went as far as to say that Watson would make some plays for them that no one else in the league can make (via Mary Kay Cabot).

Of course, that’s been the expectation since they traded for him.
Watson wasn’t able to play much in his first season in Cleveland because of his suspension, and his first full season with the team was cut short by multiple injuries.
Even when healthy, we only saw glimpses of his former self, and there are some serious concerns about whether he’s ever going to get back to that level or at least play somewhat decent football.
The Browns have one of the best defenses in the game, and they’ve given Watson a new set of offensive weapons and a new offensive coordinator, one who has found plenty of success with big-bodied and athletic quarterbacks, such as Josh Allen and Cam Newton.
If things don’t work out with him this time around, it might be time for the Browns to call it a day and just pull the plug on this experiment, even after all they’ve done to help him thrive.
