When the Cleveland Browns brought in Kevin Stefanski to be their next head coach, they did so partly because of his reputation as an offensive mind.
He earned that also because of his expertise as a play-caller.
That’s why it only makes sense that he continues to do so with the team.
Not many head coaches hold onto play-calling duties for long, but Stefanski doesn’t seem to be too worried about that.
There was some speculation about whether he’d finally give up those tasks, now that they hired Ken Dorsey to be their new offensive coordinator.
Nonetheless, it seems like that won’t be the case after all.
When asked about play-calling, Dorsey pretty much stated that he was aware of Stefanski’s determination to remain in charge of that since he started his interviewing process with the organization, so he was on board with that all along (via Mary Kay Cabot).

Truth be told, this could actually be good for the Browns.
Dorsey has a reputation for being great at developing quarterbacks, scheming, and game-planning.
However, play-calling hasn’t been his biggest strength.
Therefore, they could complement each other perfectly, with Stefanski being in charge of executing what Dorsey drew up for the game.
The Browns desperately need to see the best version of Deshaun Watson, although they would probably settle for just watching him stay healthy and on the field, and hiring Dorsey to work closely with him may have been just what he needed to get his career back on track.
