In the 1990s, there wasn’t a more impactful star in MLB than Ken Griffey Jr.
The hero of an entire generation of ballplayers and fans, the outfielder’s brilliance captivated kids and adults alike.
His swing was frequently imitated by everyone, his feats celebrated, and his home runs admired.
He was the face of MLB over those years.
Injuries derailed his late career, but he was still able to finish with 630 home runs, 13 All-Star berths, 10 Gold Glove awards, seven Silver Slugger awards, and the 1997 AL MVP.
After his career was over, he joined his longtime team, the Seattle Mariners, as a consultant in 2011.
10 years later, in 2021, he became a part of the M’s ownership group.
This year, he was the hitting coach of Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.
So, yes, he has kept himself busy after retirement.
You can add another occupation to the long list: photographer.
The Major League Soccer (MLS) official Twitter account posted a video of Griffey taking up photography as a new profession.

The announcers were in awe when they spotted Griffey working as a photographer.
Like the great Randy Johnson, Griffey is now interested in the beautiful art of photography.
Seeing him taking pictures of Lionel Messi, his teammates, and foes on Wednesday was very, very cool.
It’s always nice when former players do what they love after retirement: after years of sacrifices, they deserve to be happy and do things that relax them.
It appears that photography has that meaning for Griffey, and the world of baseball and professional sports wish him nothing but the best in this new endeavor.
