The Los Angeles Angels have a special talent on their roster in Shohei Ohtani.
At this point in his career, Ohtani requires no explanation or introduction.
He is arguably the best player in all of baseball and is also set to become a free agent at the end of the 2023 season.
Many are expecting Ohtani to receive a record contract with whichever team he signs with.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic predicts that Ohtani will ultimately end up signing with the Angels’ crosstown rivals in the Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason.
On the baseball podcast “Foul Territory,” Rosenthal explained why he and so many others believe that Ohtani will end up being a Dodger.

Rosenthal took note of a recent poll, which showed that people around the game overwhelmingly believe that Ohtani will end up a Dodger.
The esteemed MLB writer also noted that the Dodgers cut back on payroll this past offseason.
They made a few frugal moves to sign J.D. Martinez and Noah Syndergaard while letting players such as Justin Turner, Cody Bellinger, and Trea Turner walk in free agency.
But with the Dodgers having strong financial resources, they are in a good position to potentially make a move such as this.
Rosenthal believes the Dodgers set themselves up perfectly for this by cutting back on payroll.
He also listed the New York Mets as a possibility, given the financial flexibility of owner Steve Cohen.
But Rosenthal believes that the Dodgers are in the best possible position to make a play for the two-way star.
