The trade deadline is just over six weeks away.

By 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time on August 1, the deadline will have passed and no more trades will be made.

But with plenty of time left, analysts have begun speculating over who will ultimately be moved when the deadline finally arrives.

On Thursday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic stopped by FOX Sports to discuss a certain pitcher he thinks could ultimately be traded.

Rosenthal predicted that the Chicago Cubs may be willing to trade Marcus Stroman when the deadline finally comes.

Rosenthal noted that the NL Central is one of the worst divisions in all of baseball.

The Cubs are 31-37 and sit in fourth place, but are only 3.5 games back of first.

Rosenthal believes that the Cubs could ultimately decide that this year isn’t their year and that they would rather make a long-term plan for the franchise.

In that case, Stroman could be available to teams in need of starters, especially with Detroit Tigers left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez on the injured list.

He also listed Cody Bellinger and Kyle Hendricks as potential trade pieces if the Cubs ultimately decide to sell.

However, Rosenthal pointed out that the NL Central is a tightly packed division and that despite being well below .500, the Cubs could decide that the division is still within reach.

Rosenthal reiterated that the NL Central is a weak division and that even the 27-42 St. Louis Cardinals aren’t out of the picture just yet.
