The Los Angeles Clippers are working their way around the free agency market.
Tyronn Lue is a very good tactician who knows how to maximize the hand he’s been given, but this is the Western Conference.
Even if he was also injury-prone and they never got to the NBA Finals with him, this team most likely doesn’t stand a chance against other contenders without Paul George.
With that in mind, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins believes Kawhi Leonard should request a trade from the Clippers (via Legion Hoops).

That makes sense for both parties, as the Clippers are trying to offload Russell Westbrook, and it’s become painfully evident that James Harden struggles in the playoffs.
The only issue is that Leonard agreed to sign a contract extension, knowing that George could’ve left.
Also, as big a superstar as he is, his trade value might never be as low as it is right now.
Leonard has failed to avoid injury since he arrived in Los Angeles, and he hasn’t been available to go deep in the playoffs because of that.
Truth be told, the Clippers might be stuck with Kawhi Leonard and vice versa, and that’s what happens sometimes when you swing for the fences.
