As an ESPN personality, former NBA center Kendrick Perkins is known for holding nothing back when he gives his opinions on news and issues around the league.

He recently unloaded on one struggling team he believes is not doing things right when it comes to how its front office is operating.

The Chicago Bulls felt they had become a championship contender a couple of years ago, but injuries and perhaps a lack of support have resulted in them sagging closer to the bottom since then.

Guard Zach LaVine, who has arguably been the Bulls’ best player the past few seasons, has had trouble staying healthy, and an anonymous team source recently said he has “never won” and that if he wants to win, “he’ll do what’s asked of him.”

With the nameless criticism of LaVine, Perkins said he feels there is no accountability for the Bulls front office and that it needs to take some responsibility for the franchise’s problems, per NBA on ESPN.

“No accountability for the front office and the organization and you’re going to put all of this blame on Zach Lavine?” Perkins said. “I just want to know who that source is.”

Long ago, the Bulls won six NBA championships during the 1990s thanks to Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson, but that era now seems as old as an abacus.

The modern iterations of the Bulls have sputtered, and the organization has gotten to the Eastern Conference Finals just once since Jordan retired following the 1997-98 season.

LaVine has been the subject of many trade rumors over the past couple of years, and he’s an intriguing target for other teams as a very capable scorer who can throw down highlight dunks.

But he indeed is injury-prone, and some regard him as an empty-calories player who would not produce on a winning team.
