A few months ago, the Milwaukee Bucks seemed to be in a complicated situation, with rumors about Giannis Antetokounmpo potentially leaving looming over their head.

However, the Bucks cleared those clouds by trading for Damian Lillard as they aim to start fresh for the 2023-24 season.

Trading for Lillard worked out well for the Bucks, at least in the season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Lillard ended up with 39 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in 39 minutes for the Bucks in a 118-117 victory.

Following Lillard’s debut, NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins announced the Bucks as his favorites to win it all this season, via “First Take” on Twitter.

“I got them winning the NBA championship,” Perkins announced.

Perkins was initially asked about his thoughts on which team would be the champions of the Eastern Conference.

The former NBA player chose the Bucks as his pick, not only to win the Eastern Conference but also to lift the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Considering the Bucks have arguably the best duo in the league with Lillard and Antetokounmpo, it’s no surprise that Perkins picked the Bucks to win it all.

Fans got a chance to see the duo in action during the Bucks’ season opener against the 76ers.

It was a closely fought game, but the heroics of Lillard were just enough to lead the Bucks to victory.

While Lillard was the star of the game, it somewhat took away the limelight from Antetokounmpo’s 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists, which were also essential to winning the game.

Can the duo continue playing at this level for the rest of the season?

If yes, then Perkins’ prediction may turn into a reality.
