Before the Golden State Warriors made the surprising trade to acquire Chris Paul from the Washington Wizards in exchange for Jordan Poole, there was no love lost between Paul and the Warriors’ star players, especially Draymond Green and Stephen Curry.
With Paul now in San Francisco and joining the core three of the Warriors, a lot of people have wondered if it would work due to the beef these star players have had with the veteran point guard.
As seen with Green and Poole, a beef can last for quite some time and eventually result in a trade, with both sides still holding a grudge, but Paul is in a different situation as he’s more mature and has one goal in mind to win a championship, which is in line with the Warriors stars.
ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins chimed in on the beef that Paul and the Warriors have had over the years, and he believes it will be a thing of the past next season once basketball starts to get played in the Bay Area, via NBA on ESPN.

It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that some drama takes place in San Francisco throughout the 2023-24 NBA season if Paul isn’t liking the way things are going or there’s a dust-up between players, but he’s likely in a different place in his career where he’s willing to take a backseat and be more willing to get along.
Only time will tell if this trade to bring in Paul works for the Warriors, but it will definitely be interesting to see how things unfold during training camp and in the regular season.
