The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets on Friday night, moving to the top spot in the Western Conference and sending the Nuggets down to third place.

Anthony Edwards scored 25 points in the team’s major victory, while Mike Conley posted 23 points and Rudy Gobert put up 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Many people were blown away by the Timberwolves’ win, including Kendrick Perkins.

Following the win, Perkins hopped on Twitter to praise the team.

“This Anthony Edwards led Timberwolves team is a LEGIT title contender!!! You can argue with momma. Carry the hell on…” Perkins said.

The Timberwolves are once again the top team in their conference, but the competition is incredibly fierce.

Both Minnesota and the Oklahoma City Thunder have a record of 51-22, while the Nuggets are now 51-23.

That means any of these teams could come out on top when the regular season wraps up in a few weeks.

The Timberwolves are going to work hard to secure the top seed and earn homecourt advantage for the playoffs and their upcoming schedule suggests they might be able to make that happen.

They next play the Chicago Bulls on Sunday night before they face the red-hot Houston Rockets on Tuesday.

And they still face the Denver Nuggets one more time before the playoffs, on April 10.

The Timberwolves have been in strong form since the start of the season but there have been numerous people thinking they might not have what it takes to stay powerful for all of 2023-24.

So far, they have proven themselves and silenced those critics but their biggest challenges are just ahead.

Can they keep playing like this through the playoffs?

Will this amazing regular season end with an incredible run in the postseason?
