The Dallas Mavericks never hesitated to double down on their commitment to Kyrie Irving.
As bad as the team looked upon his arrival last season, they were confident in the fact that it wasn’t Kyrie’s fault and that he could coexist on the floor with Luka Doncic.
Truth be told, it would be hard to blame him for the team’s downfall, although losing their best defender to get him obviously had something to do there.
But now that Kyrie will get a full training camp under Jason Kidd, Luka Doncic looks slimmer than ever, and they’ve put a solid supporting cast around them; former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins believes that Kyrie could have an All-NBA kind of season in 2023-24.
“A motivated Kyrie Irving that’s ready to prove the world wrong with a skinny Luka [Doncic], I’m looking at Kyrie Irving to be an All-NBA caliber player this season.”

Perkins explained that Kyrie was at his best when he played for Tyronn Lue, a former NBA champion who had played with his fair share of legends and could hold him accountable.
Then, he played for Brad Stevens and Steve Nash, and he didn’t respect either of them.
But Kyrie grew up idolizing Jason Kidd, and the veteran point guard won’t hesitate to hold him accountable if needed, and that could go to great lengths with a guy like him, according to Perkins.
Kyrie has faced plenty of criticism for his never-ending antics, and people have called him out for his lack of success without LeBron James by his side.
He’ll have a big chip on his shoulder next season, and that should be a scary thought for the rest of the league.
