The Boston Celtics trailed by as many as 31 points during their Thursday night loss to the New York Knicks.
It was not a good game for the Celtics, especially since they are supposed to be the most dominant team in the entire league.
But are they?
That question was asked of Kendrick Perkins on Friday’s “First Take,” and he said that he absolutely questions the team’s “toughness.”
He said that the word is out about the Celtics and that other teams are figuring out how to beat them.

Perkins claims that opponents simply have to keep games close, grab offensive rebounds, and make things uncomfortable for the Celtics.
If that happens, Boston is not the juggernaut some people think they are.
The Celtics have a bad habit of giving up close games in the final minutes, partly because Jayson Tatum has a hard time in those clutch moments, according to Perkins.
He also said that he wants to see a lot of Kristaps Porzingis in the playoffs and questioned if the Celtics big man would be capable of putting up strong numbers and defense for a seven-game series.
Several of Boston’s weaknesses have been exposed throughout the season, even though they have the best record in the entire league.
Perkins said that other teams should take note of them and formulate the right sort of game plan.
The Celtics are undoubtedly very talented and wouldn’t have a 62-18 record if they weren’t.
But do they have the sort of toughness that can outplay and outsmart opponents, especially in the postseason?
Perkins isn’t so sure of that after some troubling losses.
