Giannis Antetokounmpo is the heart and soul of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Antetokounmpo led the Bucks to their first title in 50 years in 2021.

Evidently, the Greek Freak gets special treatment from the organization according to some.

Many believe that Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Giannis’ brother, is on the Bucks roster only to keep the two-time NBA MVP happy.

Former NBA player turned-analyst Kendrick Perkins recently reiterated the point via ClutchPoints on Twitter by claiming the only reason Thanasis is in the league is because of his last name.

“If Giannis wasn’t on the Bucks… I don’t believe that his brother [Thanasis] would actually be on an NBA roster,” Perkins claimed.

“When we talk about giving Giannis everything and more, that is everything and more because to be honest with you… if Giannis wasn’t on the Bucks… I don’t believe that his brother [Thanasis] would actually be on an NBA roster.”

Perkins didn’t hold back in calling out Giannis, who has become disgruntled in recent months.

Antetokounmpo has made it clear that he could leave the Bucks if the organization fails to create a championship contender around him.

So much for being one of the most loyal players in the NBA.

But the fact of the matter remains that the Bucks have already done plenty to keep Giannis happy.

Sure, he delivered an NBA Championship to the franchise, but one may wonder how far will the Bucks go to keep him happy.

Antetokounmpo averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists over 63 games in the 2022-23 season.

He’s undoubtedly one of the best players in the league, but the Greek Freak failed to replicate the same level of success in the postseason.

The first-seeded Bucks suffered an embarrassing 4-1 First Round series defeat against the Miami Heat.

Ever since then, Giannis has been somewhat unhappy with the Bucks and may ultimately leave the organization to begin a new chapter in his career.
