The New York Knicks are one of only three teams in the Eastern Conference that has officially clinched a playoff berth, as Jalen Brunson and company join the likes of the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics.
Currently, the Knicks are sitting in the third seed in the East, which is a bit higher than expected with the team playing without star forward Julius Randle, but New York has been able to do enough to stay afloat, winning six of their last 10 games and two straight.
With the news recently surfacing that Randle has been shut down for the season, the Knicks will head into the upcoming NBA playoffs without a major piece of the puzzle on the basketball floor.
That said, there aren’t a lot of people who believe the Knicks will be able to go the distance, with the consensus being that the Celtics will be the team to advance to the NBA Finals out of the East.
However, ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins continues to praise the team, believing they’ll at least make the Eastern Conference Finals, via NBA on ESPN.
“The Knicks are the second-best team in the Eastern Conference,” Perkins said. “So, with that being said, they’re going to the conference finals.”

With superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo recently suffering a calf strain that could keep him out at least the first round of the playoffs, the Knicks might be able to take advantage of the ailing Bucks and eventually sneak by Milwaukee.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Knicks’ season goes, as they’ll face a tough challenge to go the distance.
