The Phoenix Suns have one of the most talented offensive trios in the history of the NBA.
Pairing Kevin Durant with Devin Booker and Bradley Beal made them an instant contender, but people question whether they are able to get enough stops to actually win a championship.
Notably, Durant doesn’t seem to care so much about that, as he took to Twitter to debate with a fan — as per usual — and let him know that, contrary to popular belief, it’s an offense — not defense — that wins rings.
That’s why his former teammate Kendrick Perkins mocked him on First Take, stating that ‘he got cooked by a Twitter dude’ because the defense is often more important when it comes to winning rings.

Truth be told, it’s hard to think of a championship team that didn’t play at least more than decent defense.
Rotations often get smaller in the playoffs, and all the adjustments are mostly about taking away things from the other team and its best players.
We’ve seen multiple offensive juggernauts thrive to put up points on the scoreboard and then fail to get stops over and over throughout the course of league history.
Fortunately for Durant, his team’s front office did a solid job of finding guys who could actually play some defense, signing multiple players with plus-wingspans and positional versatility.
At the end of the day, you have to compete on both ends of the floor if you actually want to succeed in the most competitive basketball league on Earth.
