Austin Rivers recently started one of the biggest controversies to hit the sports world in some time.

He appeared on the Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, indicating that several NBA players could make an immediate impact on an NFL roster.

This conversation has also been discussed by two NFL players, Jason and Travis Kelce, who believe that there aren’t any NFL players who could put up significant numbers in the NBA.

This topic continues to get airtime, as Kendrick Perkins created a segment on ESPN where he outlined five NBA players that could, in his words, “dominate” in the NFL.

“Austin, I got your back,” Perkins said, adding, “Take care of yourself.”

The five players Perkins listed are Marcus Smart, Anthony Edwards, Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and Jalen Suggs.

Perkins’ rationales for all of these players varied, citing their size, speed, athleticism, and past experience playing football.

While it is unlikely that any current NBA players will pursue a career in the NFL, this topic doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Seemingly every news outlet is interested in covering this story, and a lot of players have tried to give their opinion on the situation as well.

It is hard enough to become a professional at one sport, being competent enough to succeed in another is an even taller task.

Athleticism can take a person a long way, but there seem to only be a few distinguishing factors between a good and a great player in a particular sport.
