The NBA is well-represented in the 2023 FIBA World Cup as several of its young stars are representing their respective countries in the tournament.
The league has to be pleased with the homegrown talent on Team USA as they have advanced to the semi-finals thanks to a 24-point effort from Mikal Bridges.
The Americans have dominated FIBA play for the most part, though they do have a blemish on their record after getting upset by Lithuania.
Still, Team USA is widely considered to be the favorites to take home the gold medal and even if they don’t they are guaranteed their spot in the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Over the years, basketball has grown into a more global sport as the international competition has never been better.
The NBA is seeing a rise in overseas players and some of them even made it onto Kendrick Perkins’ top-5 list of FIBA via ESPN.

Anthony Edwards has been the most impressive player of the tournament as he’s been able to take the next step and lead Team USA to several victories.
Not to be outdone, Luka Doncic is also having a strong tournament though he and Slovenia face a tough test against Canada led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
The surprise on the list is Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who has been a scoring nova throughout FIBA for Jordan.
Rounding out the list is Dennis Schroder who has been a key part of Germany’s success on both ends of the floor.
It’s hard to argue with Perkins’ list and it will be exciting to see which stars step up the most in the next round.
