Luka Doncic has been playing incredible basketball this season and his Dallas Mavericks have been doing very well lately, going 7-3 in their last ten games.

Because of that, Kendrick Perkins told the crew on “First Take” that Doncic is “the most dangerous player in the Western Conference.”

Although he thinks Doncic is a cut above the rest, he also explained how the entire team is playing a sort of “agenda-free basketball” that could make them a huge threat in the West.

He cited the work of Kyrie Irving, Dereck Lively II, P.J. Washington, Tim Hardaway Jr., and the coaching work of Jason Kidd.

All of that, along with the skills and leadership of Doncic, is making the Mavericks something special.

Doncic is once again in the running for MVP with a season average of 34.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game.

It’s undeniable that there are few players on the same level as Doncic this year.

But other players on the roster are also doing incredible things and working well alongside the Slovenian phenom.

As great as they have been at points during this season, the Mavericks are still just the eighth seed in the West with a 33-24 record.

This shows how tough the rest of the conference is and reminds fans that Dallas will have to continue playing extremely well if they wish to earn a spot in the playoffs.

Doncic might be one of the top-three candidates for MVP this season but, more importantly, his team could truly go far in the postseason if they keep working so well.

Their current spot in the standings doesn’t properly reflect just how fearsome this team has become.
