The Philadelphia 76ers got their 2023-24 NBA campaign underway on Thursday night in a thrilling season opener against the reloaded Milwaukee Bucks led by superstars Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.
Of course, the 76ers headed into this game without superstar guard James Harden, who was told to stay home while the team begins the season on a two-game road trip against the Bucks and Toronto Raptors.
The saga continues with Harden, as he remains unhappy, and the team remains unable to trade him to the Los Angeles Clippers due to not getting the compensation they want in return for the one-time NBA MVP.
With the Clippers recently putting trade talks on pause for Harden, there’s no telling when this saga will end for Philadelphia, but former NBA player Kendrick Perkins believes he has the solution, and it’s the Los Angeles Lakers trading for the talented scorer, via NBA on ESPN.
“If I’m the Los Angeles Lakers … I might be looking to trade for James Harden.”

With Harden wanting to play in his hometown, Perkins believes that the Lakers should take the opportunity to trade for the disgruntled guard because of what it might do for Anthony Davis.
Davis has struggled a bit during the first two games of the season, as he hasn’t been that imposing offensive force of old, which has raised concern for the Lakers.
However, bringing in Harden, who notoriously has quit on his team time and time again, probably isn’t the right way to go for a team that seems to have all the right pieces to the puzzle.
Yes, the Lakers haven’t played well to start the season, but it’s way too early to think about breaking things up, especially for a loose cannon like Harden.
