Kendrick Perkins Questions NBA West Team After Friday Performance

The Phoenix Suns have been one of the most disappointing teams in the league this season.

They were supposed to be an NBA championship contender, yet they’re barely holding onto the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference.

Granted, Bradley Beal has missed some time with an injury, but still.

This team was supposed to be a dominant offensive juggernaut like we hadn’t seen in the league in quite a while, but that hasn’t been the case.

With that in mind, former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to call them out.

He stated that they either suck or they’re trying to get coach Frank Vogel fired, as there was no excuse for them to be run off of the court by an Oklahoma City Thunder team missing it’s best player.

Either the Suns suck or they’re trying to get Vogel fired… because they have ZERO excuses for getting STOMPED out tonight by the Thunder who didn’t have their best player!!! I’m just saying…

Of course, the Thunder also deserve plenty of credit, and Mark Daigneault’s team has shown that they can win even without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the court, but that doesn’t make Perkins’ point any less valid.

Frank Vogel hasn’t made the impact people expected him to make.

The Suns’ lack of a traditional point guard has been a major issue late in games.

Devin Booker has handled the playmaking duties well, but he’s not a traditional floor general or table-setter.

Jusuf Nurkic has failed to establish himself as a physical presence down low, and his impact has been significantly less impressive than his numbers.

As currently constructed, this isn’t a championship-caliber team, not even if Devin Booker and Kevin Durant combine for 60+ points every night.
