The New York Knicks keep rolling.

Tom Thibodeau’s team is tough as nails, and while their defensive prowess is their calling card, it all starts with their leader on the floor.

Jalen Brunson is a bulldozer on the floor, an unstoppable physical force every single time he drives to the lane.

That was evident again in Game 2 vs. the Indiana Pacers, as he just bullied his way to the restricted area with his physicality on every drive.

With that in mind, former NBA player Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to show why he coined the ‘Big Body Brunson’ nickname for him.

Here’s an example why I gave him the name “Big Body Brunson” good morning and Carry on… https://t.co/NS05M8DakI

Brunson isn’t the tallest guy in the league by any means.

Standing at 6-foot-2, he’s built more as a linebacker than as the prototypical NBA point guard, and he’s made sure to make the most of that strong frame.

Brunson is the kind of player who won’t be denied once he puts his head down, and even bigger players tend to struggle to contain him when he sizes them up or puts his head on their chest.

The Knicks had craved a leader for years, and while he’s not the most vocal guy out there, his toughness and game do all the talking for him.

He even came back from an injury that kept him off the court for most of the first half to secure his team left the game with a 2-0 lead, and that kind of toughness isn’t common in today’s game, not even in the playoffs.
