When Kevin Durant joined the Golden State Warriors in 2016, it shifted the balance of power in the league.
The Warriors went to three straight finals during Durant’s stint with the team and ended up winning two NBA Championships over none other than LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, since Durant left the Warriors, the matchups between Stephen Curry and LeBron James’ sides have gone in favor of James more often than not.
James continued to impress against the Warriors during their recent battle in the 2023-24 NBA season.
After the game, former NBA player turned analyst Kendrick Perkins heaped huge praise on LeBron James.
“Like I said before I’ll take Bron against the Warriors with no KD any day of the week,” Perkins tweeted.
36-20-12 is what a 39 year old senior citizen put up on the Warriors tonight with a W! Like I said before I’ll take Bron against the Warriors with no KD any day of the week. Carry the hell on…

Perkins mentioned how LeBron James’ 36-point triple-double performance helped the Lakers register a 145-144 win over the Warriors.
He reiterated his point about preferring James’ side over the Warriors without Kevin Durant any day of the week.
To be honest, many basketball fans share the same view as Perkins regarding the battles of LeBron James against the Warriors in the post-Durant era.
James proved that during the 2023 Western Conference Semifinals as well by leading the Lakers to a 4-2 series win over the Warriors.
Speaking of his scoring outburst against the Warriors, James recorded 36 points, 20 rebounds, and 12 assists during the Lakers’ final game of the NBA Rivals week.
James and the Lakers are currently soaring with confidence, but they need to ensure they maintain this form over the next few weeks.
After all, the Purple and Gold are still the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 24-23 record.
