Fans of the Golden State Warriors are demanding a change because the current state of the team is just unacceptable to them.
That became painfully clear on Monday night, as the Warriors were taken down by a Memphis Grizzlies team that was lacking most of it’s biggest stars.
Speaking on ESPN, Kendrick Perkins said the Warriors need to make a big, radical, shocking move: they should trade both Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
“Both of them need to be traded. Both of them, Klay and Dray,” Perkins said.
Perkins and co-hosts Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A. Smith believe that these two players might end up doing better on other teams.
A change of scenery could be particularly helpful for Thompson, Perkins said.
Other players, such as Andrew Wiggins, most likely have low value on the trade market and they wouldn’t be able to get much in return.
But sending Thompson and Green away could lead to the Warriors earning at least one or two impactful players.
Perkins said that after the front office parts ways with Thompson and Green, there needs to be a conversation with Stephen Curry about the future.
Is he willing to sit through a rebuilding process or will he demand to head to another franchise as well?
These next few weeks could be monumental for the future of the Warriors.
Desperate times have called for desperate measures and it would be understandable if Golden State commits to some jaw-dropping choices.
