Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns clearly loves the game of basketball.
In fact, most insiders say that it’s all he loves and his entire life is strictly devoted to practicing, playing, and getting better.
Therefore, it would only make sense that he would someday move beyond just being a player and turn into a team owner too.
Sitting down with Andrew Ross Sorkin for CNBC, Durant was asked if he would ever want to own an NBA franchise.
Durant said he would and revealed that he would love to help bring a team back to Seattle, Washington.
“Yeah, that would be cool, for sure, in a perfect world…Seattle would be the ideal spot, they deserve to have a team there again,” Durant said, via CNBC Events on Twitter.

Durant knows a lot about Seattle, of course.
The Washington D.C. native got his start in the league playing for the Seattle SuperSonics.
But he only played for one season with the Sonics.
The team was then shipped away, turning into the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Durant mentioned that the injection of the Thunder into OKC radically changed that city.
He told Sorkin that the metropolis bloomed in a major way due to the Thunder’s arrival.
This is evidence that the NBA can do great things for cities all over the country, Durant claimed.
We don’t know if Durant will ever own a team.
But most observers are quite certain that Seattle will get one in the future.
It is expected that the league will expand again over the next few years.
Cities like Seattle, Las Vegas, and Vancouver are repeatedly mentioned as possible locations.
Perhaps Durant will invest in a Seattle team someday.
Or if it arrives while he is still playing, perhaps he will retire in the same city where it all started.
