Last month, Team USA had a disappointing finish at the FIBA World Cup, as it failed to win a medal despite being picked by many to finish first.

It has led to a number of NBA stars and superstars saying they want to play for Team USA next summer in the Olympic games in Paris in order to help it regain the gold medal.

One of those superstars is Kevin Durant, who, per NBACentral, says he’s “100 percent committed.”

Kevin Durant says he wants to play for Team USA next summer if they offer him a spot

“I’m 100% committed. It’s on whoever is making the calls. They put the team together, they make the calls, but yeah, I’m committed to playing this summer. If they would have me on the team.”… pic.twitter.com/mOoUolMpL3

If Durant ends up on the roster, it would be his fourth go-around in the Olympics.

He made his debut in 2012 in London alongside Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, while also playing on the 2016 squad, and in the last Olympic games, he was Team USA’s undisputed leader.

In each of those three appearances, the Americans won the gold medal.

Durant also played in the FIBA World Championship in 2010 and led the United States to its first gold medal in that competition since 1994 while winning the MVP of the tournament.

He is currently prepping for his first full season with the Phoenix Suns after two-and-a-half fruitless years with the Brooklyn Nets alongside Kyrie Irving.

The Suns now have Durant, Bradley Beal, and Devin Booker, giving them as much star power as any other team in the NBA, and it has led some to pick them to reach the NBA Finals.

A third world championship would certainly cement Durant’s legacy, and perhaps it would cause some to consider him as one of the 10 greatest players in basketball history.
