Needless to say, USA Basketball has had its fair share of NBA superstars.
Ever since the Dream Team paved the way, playing for Team USA has been the ultimate honor.
The players are willing to sacrifice and spend the entire summer working out and traveling just to bring home the gold, even though some of them will have diminished roles when they play for Team USA.
However, of all of the legendary players who once donned the national team’s uniform, no one has even come close to matching Kevin Durant’s résumé.
As pointed out by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Phoenix Suns star has officially become the most decorated USA Basketball player of all time.
Not only did he set a new mark for the most total points scored in the Olympics but he’s also now the first player to win at least four medals in the men’s basketball tournament in Olympics history.

Durant took down Carmelo Anthony’s record and became the true Captain America, at least until further notice.
He averaged just under 14 points per game and shot 54% from the floor and 52% from beyond the arc, being a huge offensive catalyst every single time Team USA was in big need of a bucket.
Moreover, Durant has made it loud and clear that he wants to keep playing as long as possible, so even though he’s a veteran and has struggled with injuries in the past couple of years, we wouldn’t rule him out from the 2028 games in Los Angeles.
