One superstar player in the NBA who never really shies away from answering questions about legacies and all-time lists is Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns.
Even though Durant can be pretty defensive and isn’t a fan of answering questions from the media, he does perk up at times when the topic interests him, as this one clearly did.
According to Chris Henderson, Durant was asked about the best scorers in the league since 2000, and the two-time NBA champion had to give his Mt. Rushmore (four) best over the last 24 years.
Here is his list:
Himself
Kobe Bryant
Lebron James
Tracy McGrady
This was tough. I had @KDTrey5 give me his mt Rushmore of bucket getters since 2000.
Can’t argue with
• himself
• @kobebryant
• BRON @KingJames
• McGrady @Tmac_213
What yall think? What would your list look like?

It’s hard to argue with Durant’s list, as he has the league’s all-time leading scorer in LeBron James, as well as himself and Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who famously dropped 81 points on the Toronto Raptors back in 2006.
Tracy McGrady may be the only player on the list that some scoff at, even though he was an incredible scorer during his prime with the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets.
McGrady’s persistent injury problems derailed his career in terms of going down as one of the best players of all time and moving up the ranks to be one of the dominant scorers in the history of the league.
However, this is Durant’s opinion, and he played against everyone on the list, so that gives him a different perspective with an opinion that he’s entitled to, even if the masses disagree.
With scoring ramping up in the NBA over the last few years, with players like Joel Embiid dropping 70 and Karl-Anthony Towns putting up 62 this week, it’ll be interesting to see how this debate evolves over time.
