Team USA features nothing but the best American players in the NBA.
They know the talent gap has become narrower all over the world, so they can’t spare any effort to get the best possible team out there.
Some might feel like this is a bit of overkill and the Americans are just too overpowered to lose.
With that in mind, Kay Adams asked Kevin Durant his thoughts on any potential threat or weakness for Team USA.
Talking on Up & Adams, Durant stated that complacency might be their biggest threat.

He claimed that they can’t only rely on their talent.
That’s right on point, as other teams are also very talented, and anybody can lose a game; that’s just basketball.
You can’t cheat the game, and talent alone can bail you out once or twice, but it’s not enough to get the job done at the highest level.
We’ve seen all other teams get exponentially better over the course of the years, and they’re also used to playing with that set of rules, on those courts, with that basketball, and whatnot.
Team USA will need to bring its A-game night in and night out, with the players competing as hard as they do in the playoffs.
If they approach this tournament the same way they approach the NBA’s All-Star Game, their chances might not be great.
