After 15 years in the league, Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns has experienced many things and played for multiple teams.

But what was the best moment of his career and his favorite era?

Speaking with Boardroom, Durant said that his early years with the Oklahoma City Thunder were his favorite, partly because of who he was playing with and who he was competing against.

Durant said that he and his teammates James Harden and Russell Westbrook were all young upstarts being thrown into the fire of the NBA, forced to play against some of the biggest, most established stars in the league.

This is one of the reasons why this era had such a lasting impact on Durant.

Following his time playing for Texas in college, Durant was drafted by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2007.

After just one year, the team moved down to Oklahoma City and became the Thunder, with Harden and Westbrook soon joining.

In a very short time, they became one of the most fearsome big threes in the league, despite their youth and inexperience.

Durant’s time with the Thunder was acclaimed and very successful, although they ultimately fell short of winning the Finals.

Eventually, Durant seemingly soured on the team and elected to play with the Golden State Warriors.

His breakup with the Thunder was complicated and controversial so it’s somewhat surprising to see that it didn’t taint his time with the team.

All these years later, he still fondly remembers this early period in his career.

He has won two championships, gold medals, and numerous accolades since his days with the Thunder.

But this is still the period that he loves most.
