After dominating the competition throughout the majority of the FIBA World Cup, Team USA was given a bit of a reality check recently when they went head-to-head against Lithuania.

The Americans haven’t been crushing teams in this tournament thus far, but they have been winning comfortably with a few scares here and there until facing Lithuania, who beat them.

Fortunately, Team USA bounced back with a vengeance on Tuesday when they convincingly beat Italy, coming out on top, 100-63.

This win over the Italians puts Team USA in the semifinals to face either Dennis Schroder’s German squad or Latvia, with the following round being a matchup with the winner of Slovenia and Canada.

It appears the late rounds of the FIBA World Cup are drawing attention from NBA stars, with Draymond Green and Kevin Durant taking to Twitter to root for their country.

It won’t get any easier from here on out for Team USA with every team left in the tournament, with maybe the exception of Latvia being capable of winning it all.

Germany has proven to be formidable during the FIBA World Cup, with Schroder helping lead his country to multiple victories thus far and proving they can compete with any team in this competition.

The same goes for Canada, led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who has been arguably one of the best players in the tournament, if not the best, up to this point.

Slovenia has also been dominant, with superstar Luka Doncic leading the way, as he is the tournament’s leading scorer at 26.4 points per game.
