There were a lot of questions surrounding the United States men’s basketball team heading into the Olympics.

They narrowly beat South Sudan in an exhibition game before the festivities began, a potential warning sign to fans.

After all, the United States is going for their fifth-straight gold medal in the sport, and for them to lose to South Sudan would have been a major blow to their chances of keeping that streak alive.

Despite their exhibition game loss to South Sudan, this team was able to right the ship in their opening game against Serbia, a team they were slated to struggle against.

Nikola Jokic and his teammates were no match for Team USA, a roster that’s littered with All-Stars and future Hall of Famers.

One of those players is Kevin Durant, who had a perfect shooting performance in the first half of their matchup with Serbia.

Durant was asked about his performance, which was shared by USA Basketball via Clutch Points on Twitter.

He said, “It felt amazing… I credit that to my teammates, swinging me the ball, finding me when I’m open… It’s on me to finish.”

Durant showcased his skills in the opening matchup, and he’ll have another opportunity to do that in an upcoming rematch with South Sudan.

He might not be the youngest player on the team by any means, but with his level of confidence and on-court ability, there’s no telling how well he’ll perform in the games to come.
