A massive piece of contract news has recently hit the NBA wire.
The Toronto Raptors and All-Star small forward Scottie Barnes have agreed to terms on a massive five-year rookie extension worth $270 million.
It is the largest contract extension for any Raptors player in team history.
Legendary NBA player Kevin Garnett reacted to the news of Barnes getting his new deal.
“Shout out Scottie Barnes on the new deal!!! Love to see it ,” Garnett recently tweeted.

To see Barnes get locked up by Toronto should make Raptors fans quite happy.
The 22-year-old is coming off of his best season as a pro.
He set career-highs in points per game (19.9), three-point makes (101), free throw percentage (78.1%) and blocks (88).
The former Rookie of the Year is one of the rising stars in the sport and seeing Garnett shout him out is a pretty neat thing.
Despite Toronto finishing 25-57 and missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year, Barnes is clearly a key piece of the puzzle in Canada.
Around Barnes, young players like Immanuel Quickley and R.J. Barrett are also key pieces on the roster.
It might be a little bit before head coach Darko Rajakovic and Co. has this team in playoff contention.
The good news is that they have themselves a rising star in Barnes, who will now be tasked with leading this team into the future.
If the Raptors can get close to a winning record and Barnes can continue his production in 2024-2025, Toronto will be headed in the right direction.
