The Boston Celtics made a splash in the NBA’s offseason, signing Jaylen Brown to a five-year, $304 million supermax contract.

This was a controversial move to some, as Brown’s talents have been heavily debated.

Many believe that he has difficulty driving to his left, potentially limiting his ability and putting a cap on his potential.

As NBA Central has recently tweeted, some around the league believe that Brown is only the Celtics’ third, fourth, or fifth-best player.

In response, Kevin Garnett expressed frustration, asking if LeBron, Steph Curry, and Kevin Durant were suddenly on the team.

Huh? Bron, KD and Steph play for Boston now? Tf https://t.co/MAIyf8swxD

Due to Garnett’s comments, he has a strong belief in Brown’s abilities and thinks he’s a top player on the Celtics.

Last season, Brown averaged 26.6 points per game, second only to Jayson Tatum, who many believe is the best player on the team.

Brown and Tatum were in the top-15 in scoring last season, at least according to their year-long average.

Brown was also third on the team in rebounds and steals per game.

Garnett could be biased about this situation, given that he is a former Celtic and is closer to the organization than most.

However, Brown’s on-court numbers don’t lie; there’s no hiding from these stats.

Now that he’s inked to a long-term deal, Brown will be pressured to succeed in 2023 and beyond.

Can he and Tatum stick together, helping the Celtics win their first title since 2008?

As long as they can play similarly to what they did in the 2022-2023 season, the Celtics should be in a great position to do so.
