The Miami Heat have their backs against the wall, and there’s no more margin for error for Erik Spoelstra’s team.
Falling to a 3-1 hole has all but doomed almost every single team in NBA history, except for one.
The 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers are the only team that has managed to come back from a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals, with the all-time record being 1-35.
Notably, the Cavaliers team had something in common with this Heat squad, which is that they both featured Kevin Love.

Of course, Love was still in his prime during that championship run, and he was the team’s third-best player behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.
That’s no longer the case, and his role is more limited, but he can definitely share his thoughts and expertise and try to inspire his teammates in this kind of situation, as he’s living proof that it can actually be done.
Love now has a chance to be a part of the only two teams in NBA history that have come back from that kind of deficit, although it doesn’t seem that likely at this point.
The Nuggets will look to close the series out in front of their fans and win their very first title in the history of the franchise.
They’ve been the best team in the league both in the regular season, and the playoffs, and Erik Spoelstra might not have enough aces up his sleeve to pull off another upset, not even if they get some throwback performances by Kevin Love.
