The Minnesota Vikings have a very solid cast of skill players on offense.

All-Pro wide receiver Justin Jefferson is arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL.

No. 2 wide receiver Jordan Addison caught 10 touchdowns as a rookie last season.

The team also added former Pro Bowl running back Aaron Jones as a free agent.

However, perhaps the most underrated piece of Minnesota’s offense is multi-time Pro Bowl tight end T.J. Hockenson (knee), who is starting training camp on the PUP List, per head coach Kevin O’Connell.

“T.J. will begin training camp on the PUP List. He’s well ahead of schedule…We want to make sure everything is done the right way for T.J.,” O’Connell recently said in front of the Minneapolis media.

Hockenson tore his ACL against the Detroit Lions on December 24th of last season.

It is paramount that he gets back to being fully healthy for this Vikings offense because he is such a big piece.

Before tearing up his knee, Hockenson set career-highs in receptions (95) and receiving yards (960).

If it wasn’t for his injury, he possibly could’ve eclipsed 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.

He has recorded 85+ catches for 900+ receiving yards in each of the last two seasons.

Minnesota drafted rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy with the No. 10 overall pick in April’s draft and will be looking to help him get comfortable in the NFL.

If Hockenson ends up being ready to go by the start of the season, that would be a remarkable comeback for the former Iowa Hawkeye.
