With the start of the NFL season just around the corner, there’s no worst possible time to get bitten by the injury bug.
Unfortunately, that might be the case for the Philadelphia Eagles and a very talented player.
According to a report by Tim McManus of ESPN, offensive lineman Mekhi Becton had to leave practice with an apparent lower-leg injury.

The former New York Jets star has struggled with injuries for most of his career.
He’s been putting in a lot of work to change his position this summer, and he was reportedly on the verge of being named the starting right guard for Nick Siriannis’ team.
Now, given his history of injuries, that might no longer be the case.
To add insult to injury, Tyler Steen also left the preseason win over the New England Patriots with an injury.
McManus reported that Becton was in clear discomfort when he headed to the locker room.
Becton is an absolute physical unit, and having him out there could be a huge boost for one of the best — if not the best — offensive lines in the game.
Then again, this might also be why the Jets decided to give up on him despite his impressive physical tools and evident talents, as he just can’t seem to shake off his injuries and actually stay on the field.
Hopefully, this will be just a scare, but the Eagles would be wise to err on the side of caution with their injury-prone newcomer.
