The Houston Texans finished the 2022 season with a 3-13-1 record, giving them a favorable draft position.

They took C.J. Stroud with the second overall pick, and traded up for the third pick, taking Will Anderson Jr.

Armed with two new elite prospects, the Texans are ready to change their fortunes, contending for the division.

While it’s difficult to make a substantial record change from season to season, the Texans believe they have the necessary pieces to do so.

In a recent conversation with Adam Schefter via his podcast, Laremy Tunsil said: “Don’t sleep on us.”

Houston’s Pro Bowl LT @KingTunsil78 believes it’s a mistake this season to sleep on the Texans.

As Schefter mentions, the Texans do have a lot of talented, young players.

Last season, for whatever reason, they weren’t able to connect the dots, which is why their record was 3-13-1.

One of the largest struggles for the Texans over the past few seasons has been inconsistency at the quarterback position.

Deshaun Watson was a valuable piece of this organization, but when he left the team, the wheels fell off the bus.

With any luck, Stroud will be able to figure things out in year one, providing the Texans with far greater results.

Tunsil and the rest of the offensive line will be tasked with protecting the rookie, a factor that will play into Stroud’s potential success.

The good news for Stroud and the Texans is the current state of the AFC South.

Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars are finding a groove, but the Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Titans could experience some trouble.

If the Texans can capitalize on some victories within the division, it could result in a far better record, and perhaps, a playoff berth.
