The NFL’s running back market keeps plummeting by the year.
On top of that, the plethora of talent at the position in this year’s free-agent market will only hurt it’s value even more.
That’s why former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson believes leaving the New York Giants is the best thing that could possibly happen to Saquon Barkley.
Talking on Undisputed, he stated that someone is going to get a bargain because of how much the position has devalued, adding that Barkley could get more money and be put in a better position if he were to leave the Big Apple.
“He will find a better home for him with the right amount of money if he walks from the Giants,” Johnson said.

Truth be told, the Giants have done absolutely everything they possibly could to make sure that Barkley doesn’t extend his stay there.
They didn’t even place him under the franchise tag, thus making him an unrestricted free agent.
He’s been their best offensive player since he entered the league, and chances are another team will be willing to give him more money to take his talents somewhere else.
As of now, the Houston Texans are reportedly the odds-on favorite to acquire his services, with the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, and even Giants also in play.
He needs to prove that he can stay healthy, as his talents and impact have never been put in doubt.
Hopefully, he’ll go somewhere he’s actually valued as the superstar running back he’s been since he entered the league.
