Lamar Jackson isn’t the reason the Baltimore Ravens failed to beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game, but his play on the field wasn’t up to the level that the team required to reach the Super Bowl.
Jackson, who very well could win MVP this year, didn’t look himself at times against a good Chiefs defense and couldn’t deliver on the hype that comes with MVP-caliber play on the No. 1 team in the AFC.
But Keyshawn Johnson doesn’t want Jackson to be discouraged by the way the year ended and explained on “Undisputed” on Monday that the young quarterback can still be successful in the league if he plays his game.
“He has time. He’s still young. We’ve seen some of the greatest players – not just quarterbacks, but some of the greatest players – eventually deliver,” Johnson said. “… Play football. Don’t get so caught up and consumed with ‘I have to be a pocket quarterback in this situation.’”

Jackson is still young – 26 – and just wrapped up his sixth season and fifth as the full-time starter.
He’s mostly shed the criticism of pundits of being a running quarterback who can’t pass the ball.
But he hasn’t won in the postseason – which has been a big gripe among detractors.
The loss to the Chiefs was a big blow to his early legacy, but Jackson proved this year he has the skillset to flourish in the NFL and play at a high level.
Now he just needs to put it all together in the postseason for the remainder of his career.
