The New York Jets are left with more questions than answers after Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season.

While they pulled off a victory over the Buffalo Bills, it’s uncertain how they will proceed without four-time NFL Most Valuable Player Aaron Rodgers.

The veteran quarterback will be out for the season after suffering an Achilles injury.

Rodgers tried to put weight on his foot after the sack but quickly went down after briefly getting up.

While Rodgers is done for 2023, the Jets’ campaign continues with Zach Wilson as the starting quarterback.

It’s a situation that former NFL wide receiver and current “Undisputed” host Keyshawn Johnson has experienced with the Jets in 1999.

No wonder he looked frustrated and distraught while talking about Rodgers’ fate.

Johnson described how he went through something similar as a player in the league in 1999 with Vinny Testaverde.

“Your star QB and all the hard work you put in training camp just came to a screeching halt.” Johnson said.

After going 12-4 and reaching the AFC Championship Game the previous season, the Jets were one of the favorites to win it all in 1999.

Unfortunately, starting quarterback Vinny Testaverde suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in their season opener versus the New England Patriots.

Fast forward to 2023, and the odds of victory are stacked against them once again.

The Jets also have a demanding schedule because having Rodgers behind center gave them national attention.

It’s up to head coach Robert Saleh to keep his team focused and aggressive in their upcoming games.
